About this casebook.
This is a sample draft (v1) of the TRF Newsroom AI Casebook, a companion to the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s Three steps to an AI-ready newsroom practical guide. Part I collects prototype-level cases from six newsrooms; Part II synthesises the governance work happening around them.
The cohort in this sample: Anfibia (Argentina), Chequeado (Argentina), La Diaria (Uruguay), Lake Region Bulletin (Kenya), Orkonerei FM (Tanzania), and Radio Domus (Kenya). Prevalence counts (“four of six”) refer to this set only; themes and their prevalence will change as the remaining newsrooms of the cohort are added.
No individual newsroom’s guidelines are reproduced in full; some examples are anonymised. Editorial and contradiction flags carried from the source extractions are preserved inline where they appear in the draft.
